The British Council - International School Award 2017-2020

School is accredited with the British Council International School Award 2017-2020. The school’s feat of becoming the proud recipient of The British Council International School Award is a recognition of the school’s efforts to foster a spirit of international brotherhood and provide platform to the learners to become global citizens transcending geo-political boundaries. The plethora of projects undertaken by the school enriched the learning perspective of both the learner and the taught. 

‘ARABHYA’  A Curtain Raiser,2016

School organized the curtain Raiser Arabhaya, to initiate  the British Council ISA Plan in the school. The chief Guest Padam Shree Dr. S.K. Sama, Vice President DAV Managing Committee, Director Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Ms. Sumeeta Bhal, Director, Directorate of Education Zone 20, Sri H.L. Bhatia, School Manager and School Principal Mrs. Anju Puri graced the occasion.

The programmme commenced with the lighting of the Lamp, emphasizing the theme of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam . The song Vande Mataram, from the poem of Bankim Chandra Chattopadya won a huge applause from the audience.  The audience swayed to the  amalgamation of dances from various countries like Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Bangladesh, UAE, Malaysia to name a few. Dr. Sama enlightened the parents about DAV’s commitment to quality education & rearing responsible citizens. He also encouraged the parents to be involved in their child’s progress. The ribbon inauguration ceremony was an amazing experience with a robotic hand (made by the students) offering pair of scissors for the ribbon cutting.

The students presented a colorful exhibition where various projects undertaken for ISA were highlighted. They brilliantly displayed charts depicted the importance of Vedas, significance of medicinal plants and Yoga acting as a calmer for different ailments.

The project depicting the comparison of India and UAE had stunning models of Al Jahidi Fort, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque etc. with attractive ambience consisting huge arches and flags. 

The students also demonstrated their creativity in Managing Waste for a healthier, greener earth. Their innovative ideas in Waste Management were appreciated.  

Robotics room was a huge success, attracting the visitors towards a Line Follower Robot escorting them to the world of robots.

We also celebrated the UN designated International Day of Friendship to spread the message of smile and win, to promote a ‘dialogue among civilization’ to bring solidarity, mutual understanding and reconciliation to all nations. The guests illuminated candles and poured water in a common bowl. A gesture reasserting the need for cohesiveness among all nations, for the survival of humanity. The puppet show put up by primary students spread happiness all around.

The entire event showcase a glimpse of the varied creative projects that the school shall engage in during the session to foster team building, innovation and project management among the students.

 

ISA Appreciation Letter

DAV Vasant Kunj- Proud Recipient of the International School Award

 DAV Vasant Kunj was awarded with International School Award, an initiative  by British Council. 
    The award was formally presented to Principal, Mrs. Anju Puri and the ISA co- ordinator Ms. Jyotsna Jha at  the 11th Annual Ceremony, held on 4th  December’14 at Hotel Kempinski. This glittering ceremony was held to  recognize the efforts made by   the schools in the field of  Global Education. The award is recognition of the school’s   outstanding development of International learning in the curriculum. The school was presented with a trophy and a certificate duly  signed by Martin Davidson CMG, Executive, British Council.

 The school received appreciation for the plethora of projects undertaken by the school to foster a spirit of international  brotherhood and provide platform to the  learners to become global citizens transcending geo-political boundaries added a new dimension to  the learning perspective of both the learner and the taught.  It  has been your constant motivation and encouragement to us to explore new horizons and be innovative in our approach to learning that has won us generous  appreciation of our contributions culminating in being conferred this prestigious award.

 It has been your constant motivation and encouragement to us to explore new horizons and be innovative in our approach to learning that has won us generous appreciation of our contributions culminating in being conferred this prestigious award. 

AAGAZ A Curtain Raiser, DAV Public School VK

DAV Public School, Vasant Kunj organized the curtain raiser ’Aagaz’ to initiate the  British Council ISA Programme in the school. The event showcased a glimpse of the varied,creative e projects that the school shall undertake during the year to foster team building,, innovation and project management among students. The Chief Guest of the occasion was Mr. Kinzang Dorji, Minister in the Embassy of Bhutan. Mr. J. K. Kapoor, Secretary DAVCMC, Mr. H. L. Bhatia, Manager of the school, Ms. Malvika Malhotra and Ms. Mona Shipley from the British Council were the other luminaries present on the occasion to inspire the students. The students from classes III to XII participated in the event exhibiting their potential in various projects. They researched their projects as a team, presented the architecture and geometrical patterns of the new seven wonders of the world and discussed the unique features of each of the seven wonders with the guests and the parents.

The students gave a new meaning to the world being a global village by recreating the culture, art and life and development of the SAARC countries, namely, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Maldives, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The distinguished guests were mesmerized by the graceful, co-ordinated dance performance ‘ fusion ’ which glorified the artistic fervor and melody of movements of the SAARC countries. The dance celebrated peace and unity in diversity. The young students enthralled the audience by their deep insight into the world of smart technology too.
Mr. Kinzang Dorji appreciated the efforts of the students and remarked that it was a great experience for him. He asserted that the event expressed the true caliber of the DAV students who had proved themselves worthy of being the future leaders. Mrs. Anju Puri, the school principal expressed gratitude towards all the guests for their encouragement and motivation.
